Petersfield Town Council are involved in a long term project to transform the Penns Playing Fields and Penns Farm area into a Sports Hub. The area is already home to Petersfield Rugby Club and Taro Leisure Centre, and also used by Petersfield Town Junior Football Club. Subject to planning, it is envisaged that an additional area known as Penns Field B may also be incorporated to provide a further sports field for the Rugby Club. A further area that lays behind the EHDC offices may also become part of the larger Sports Hub if an agreement is reached. Currently this area is used by Petersfield Cricket Club, and Churchers College.
Petersfield Town Council have already carried out an ecology study of wildlife and a survey of trees is currently being carried out to work out the impact and potential mitigation measures required to create this extended sports hub area.
