Members tackle a ridge walk in the Peak District in 2019

Petersfield Ramblers

The Petersfield Ramblers Club is an independent organisation whose members will celebrate its 51st anniversary this year. They have approximately 100 members and are affiliated to the Ramblers Association and the South Downs Society. When finances permit, the club collaborates with Hampshire Countryside Services, helping to fund the replacement of stiles and kissing gates in the local area and reporting any issues they find with Rights of Way.

Around Petersfield we are lucky to have a variety of excellent tracks and trails and members of the Petersfield Ramblers Club have a huge wealth of knowledge of the local area and enjoy introducing new members to interesting walks where they will meet people from many walks of life who all love walking.

Since the beginning of the various lockdowns, more people than ever have enjoyed the freedom and tremendous feeling of wellbeing that comes from walking in the countryside. Whether you’re walking to improve your health or simply for the pleasure of exploring your local area on foot, The Petersfield Ramblers make enjoying the great outdoors easy.

The Club organises a walking holiday each year where they explore new areas and are offered a choice of walks every day according to their ability.  Recently in 2019 it was to the Peak District and in 2020 to Exmoor National Park.

The Club offer a day out by coach each year to somewhere of interest where walks are led in the area before stopping on the journey home for a tasty and convivial meal together.

Walks take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays throughout the year, generally within 20 miles of Petersfield, normally starting at 10am and details can be found on their website:
