‘On the 7^th of June I joined a videoconference arranged by the twinning associations of Petersfield and Barentin. The meeting was my first opportunity to meet the Mayor of Barentin, Christophe Bouillon. The Twinning Charter with the French town was signed in Petersfield in April 1993 and over the years many friendships have formed mainly through exchange visits. With Covid-19 restrictions in place these visits have been suspended recently, however the enthusiasm to resume visits next year was clear.  I believe plans are taking shape for a visit to Barentin in early May 2022.’
