Members have approved the redevelopment of the Council
Chamber. This will see an expansion of the Council Chamber so that the
growing number of members of the public, along with the 12 Councillors and
Officers can attend a meeting in comfort, as well as providing a good sized
room that can be utilised by the community or hired out. The expansion
will also include some modernisation of formal information that is held within
the Council Chamber such as the gallery of the Town Mayors. The work was
due to commence on 20th May, but due to unforeseen circumstances
this has been delayed. An extraordinary Public Halls meeting will be
taking place on 18th June to discuss how this work can move forward.
