Everybody's Talking About Jamie is a stage musical centered around a coming-of-age story. The musical is inspired by the 2011 British television documentary Jamie: Drag Queen at 16 directed by Jenny Popplewell. The musical follows and is based upon the true-life story of 16-year-old British schoolboy Jamie Campbell, as he overcomes prejudice and bullying to step out of the darkness and become a drag queen.
On hearing Karen Carpenter's vocals for the first time, Herb Alpert said, "This was an exceptional voice that was totally identifiable. Listening to that voice for the first time I knew that radio could never submerge it, camouflage it or confuse it for anybody. That voice coming out of the radio would be immediately identifiable throughout the ages."
'Rainy Days, Mondays & Good Old Dreams', is a celebration of the sublime vocal talent of Karen Carpenter and the musical genius that is Richard Carpenter.
During the show, Kerry will talk about the musical influences and the lives of the sibling duo as she explores the Carpenters' incomparable back catalogue. Expect to hear all their greatest hits, 'Close To You', 'Top of the World', 'Yesterday Once More', 'Superstar' and many more. Kerry will be supported on stage by her band of exceptional musicians.
Noises Off is a theatrical farce by English playwright Michael Frayn. First published in 1982, the play is a behind-the-scenes look at a chaotic stage production populated with frenetic and unstable actors, a volatile director, and an overworked and overly emotional stage crew. Interspersed throughout the typical narrative structure of the piece are scenes from the play-within-a-play the group is performing: a tacky sex comedy called Nothing On.
