ECO-FRIENDLY PROPOSALS

Petersfield Town Council has carried out an assessment of Energy Efficient Retrofit Options to enable us to make informed decisions which could potentially see the venue being the best example of eco-efficient buildings in the UK.

In addition to energy and carbon savings, these steps could also improve comfort levels inside the building and future-proof the building against energy price rises.  We have the opportunity to greatly reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions!

WINDOWS

Replacement of single glazed windows to either double or triple glazed.

INSULATION

From basic draft proofing, through to internal and external wall insulation. Additional insulation to flat roofs.

VENTILATION

Natural ventilation or mechanical ventilation with heat recovery.

SOLAR PANELS

The building already has solar panels which we intend to maintain.

CLADDING

External insulation and cladding is considered best practice as it keeps the existing building warm and it is therefore less vulnerable to condensation.

NEW BUILD

Carbon associated with new construction materials is huge. This is the carbon “locked-in” to materials during extraction, manufacture, transport and construction, and is particularly significant in concrete and steel.

PUMPING SYSTEM

Replacement of existing gas boilers with air source heat pumps
