Town Development Committee Projects
The Town Development Committee oversee the delivery of any of the projects that matured from the Petersfield Neighbourhood Plan. Many of these are long-term projects that will take a long time to delivery, and the following are some that are currently being worked on.
Town Spine (Project Petersfield)
The Town Spine project has been set up to look at the main centre of the town, going from the Station, down Lavant Street, along Chapel Street into the Square, and down the High Street.
This requires the cooperation of Hampshire County Council, East Hampshire District Council, Town Council and South Downs National Park Authority, and representatives from all these organisations attend the meetings.
As part of the Town Spine Project, it was agreed that a Transport Survey should be carried out by Hampshire Traded Services, to ascertain the time and movement of various modes of transport, mainly in the town centre.
