Are you a resident of Petersfield and would you like a free tree to plant in your front garden?
Petersfield Town Council have launched an exciting new initiative to see more trees planted in front gardens around Petersfield. This front garden tree planting initiative seeks to enhance canopy cover and green corridors throughout Petersfield. This will provide far-reaching benefits for both residents and wildlife.
Young trees are being provided by Hampshire Forest Partnership along with suitable stakes and ties. Tree provided will be about 1-2meters in height and will grow to small-medium sized mature trees.
Tree Wardens will be visiting houses around Petersfield, knocking on doors and handing out flyers as well as answering any questions residents may have in relation to the front garden tree planting initiative.
Order soon to be sure of getting your choice of tree species. The application form must be completed before the end of 22 September 2024.
This initiative recognises the critical role local authorities have to protect the local environment and enhance nature recovery whilst building resilience.
If you would like a tree planted on a verge outside your house, please go to the Hampshire Highways Request – Hampshire Tree Planting.
