Petersfield Town Mayor Unveils Winning Christmas Card Design for 2024
The winning design, created by Year 7 student Amalie Hughes, was selected for its delightful and whimsical portrayal of a pigeon in a festive setting. Amalie’s artwork is the official Christmas card for the Town Mayor this year, spreading holiday cheer throughout the community.
Cllr Farrow had the enjoyable but challenging task of judging the competition due to the outstanding quality and creativity displayed by all participants. After much deliberation, Grace Bray (Year 7) was awarded second place, and Elizabeth Fennel (Year 9) took third. Both runners-up designs were deemed so exceptional that they will feature on the official TPS Christmas card, used by Headteacher Mr. Marande.
Special recognition was also given to Toby Graham and Lola Ioannon, both Year 9 students, who received high commendations for their beautiful and imaginative entries.
The competition once again showcased the incredible artistic talent of TPS students. Cllr Farrow praised the variety and quality of the designs, saying, “It was an absolute pleasure to see the creativity and thought put into each submission. Deciding upon a winner was extremely difficult, but Amalie’s cheerful depiction of the pigeon truly captured the festive spirit of our town.”
The event has become a much-loved tradition at TPS, bringing the school and community together during the holiday season. A heartfelt thank you goes out to all students who participated, helping to make this year’s competition a joyful and vibrant celebration.
With these stunning designs, it’s certainly beginning to feel like Christmas in Petersfield!
